Boxedu.biz – Bagi sebagian besar orang mungkin sudah tidak asing lagi dengan sosok petinju legendaris Indonesia, Yohannes Christian John . Petinju asal Banjarnegara, Jawa Tengah itu berhasil menjadi juara dunia kelas bulu pertama dari Tanah Air. Ia pernah mengalahkan mantan raja kelas bulu WBA dan IBF, Juan Manuel Marquez.

Setelah menjalani 52 pertandingan, pada tahun 2013 lalu Chris John memutuskan untuk pensiun dari olahraga tinju yang membesarkan namanya itu.

Lama tak pernah terlihat, ini penampilan terbaru Chris ‘The Dragon’ John yang kini terlihat makin gagah dan ganteng. Simak ulasan selengkapnya:

Karir Chris John Sebagai Petinju

Chris John memulai debut profesionalnya pada tahun 1998 silam. Sepanjang kariernya, dia menjalani 52 pertandingan dengan catatan yang fantastis yakni menang sebanyak 48 kali, 22 di antaranya via KO, tiga kali seri, dan hanya menelan kekalahan satu kali. Salah satu kemenangan paling sulit di lupakan yang pernah di raih petinju dengan julukan ‘The Dragon’ ini ialah saat ia berhasil menang melawan mantan raja kelas bulu WBA dan IBF asal Meksiko, Juan Manuel Marquez. Kemenangan Chris John atas Marques itu di nilai sebagai kemenangan terbesarnya. Sebab, ia berhasil menang mutlak dalam 12 ronde melawan petinju nomor satu dunia di kelas bulu itu.

Setelah Pensiun

Setelah 15 tahun, Chris John akhirnya memutuskan pensiun dari pertandingan tinju. Kini, sudah delapan tahun sejak Chris John menggantung sarung tinjunya pada 2013 lalu. Legenda tinju berusia 41 tahun itu saat ini di ketahui menjabat sebagai wakil ketua umum IV bidang kerja sama luar negeri, media, dan humas KONI periode 2019-2023.

Hal tersebut seperti di ketahui dari unggahan di Instagram pribadinya @chrisjohnindonesia. Ia sempat membagikan kegiatannya sebagai anggota dari tim KONI.

Selain itu, Chris John juga di sebut memiliki sebuah badan usaha yaitu PT. Chris John Indonesia yang bertujuan mencari bibit dan talenta tinju di Indonesia.

Anaknya Jadi Atlet

Siapa sangka, jika anak perempuan Chris John ternyata juga mengikuti jejaknya menjadi atlet. Namun, berbeda dengan di rinya anaknya itu di ketahui merupakan atlet wushu. Melalui unggahan di Instagramnya, Chris John sempat membagikan potret di rinya dengan sang anak. Momen tersebut di ambil ketika Chris mengantarkan sang anak untuk berangkat ke Pelatnas Wushu di Jakarta.
